Degree: Doctor of Science in the specialty of Astrophysics
Institution that grants the degree: National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics
(INAOE-México)
SNII Level: I
Specialty:
Computational fluid dynamics in Astrophysics and Terrestrial environments: hydrodynamics of the interstellar medium, accretion processes, radiative processes, aerodynamics in sports and vehicles, wind interaction with structures; stellar dynamics; gamma-ray astronomy; data analysis and visualization techniques.
Most important contributions of his scientific career:
Development of hydrodynamic models of the feeding of supermassive black holes with matter reinserted by nuclear star clusters. Development of visualization techniques for the wind-structure interaction.
Experience:
Since 2016 to present, Cátedra of the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (CONAHCYT-México). Eight years of teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate level in physics at the Faculty of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics of the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH), México. Member of the academic core of the Master's Degree in Physical Sciences UNACH. Two-year teaching experience at engineering level (financial engineering) at Polytechnic University of Tlaxcala, México.
Two-year postdoctoral stay at the Institute of Astronomy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague. I have supervised 1 doctoral thesis (aerodynamics in sports), 1 master thesis (hydrodynamics and cosmic-ray heating of the interstellar medium) and 3 undergraduate theses (black hole accretion, multi-wavelength astronomy, image and data analysis of samples with diabetic retinopathy). Currently, I am advising 2 master theses (stellar dynamics and AI applications in physics) and 3 undergraduate
theses (stellar winds, characterization of exoplanets and gamma-ray sources of TeV energies). I am currently a postdoctoral stay advisor, since 2021 (passive control of wind flow around structures).
Additional data:
I am a member of the HAWC and SWGO gamma-ray observatory collaborations, member of the International Astronomical Union. Member of the Mexican Physics Society. Member of the National System of Researchers (SNII-CONAHCYT México), promoted to level II in 2024. I have participated in international conferences and schools, as well as in research stays abroad. I am very interested in multidisciplinary projects.
